Educational Attainment
- Hontiveros graduated from the St. Scholastica’s College Manila-Grade School in 1979 and pursued secondary education in the same school, eventually graduating in 1983. While a senior high school, she organized the Nuclear Disarmament Group.
- She graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Sciences in 1987 from the Ateneo de Manila University. She was a Departmental Awardee.
- She completed a Diploma Course in Managing Arts Program at the Asian Institute of Management in October 2004.
Career Timeline
1986-1987: She co-hosted RPN’s TV program “Street Pulse.”1987-2004: She was Secretary General for the Coalition for Peace and was member of the Government Panel for Peace Talks with the National Democratic Front.
1988-1989: Hontiveros became Segment Producer and Host for ABS-CBN’s “Magandang Umaga Po.”
1990: She became an Executive Producer for IBC 13’s “Public Life with Randy David.”
1990-1992: She was Assistant Lecturer in Peace Studies at Ateneo de Manila University.
1998-2001: She was co-host and Segment Producer for PTV 4 and SBN 21’S “XYZ Young Women’s TV.”
1999-2000: She taught Introduction to Broadcast Media at the Ateneo de Manila University. From 2000-2001, she taught Visual Thinking for Communication Managers at the same university.
